Farm for sale in Porto de Mos with approximately 4 acres, the house was totally rebuilt, maintaning only the original stone structure. The idea was to build a self-sustaining farm that didn't depend on "outside help" to get by. What one today might call an "Ecological Farm".
Located in the district of Leiria, in a rural area, but close to the city-centers, this property meets the requirements, the house can be in a privileged area (in the crown area ), and have a view over the whole valley.

Close to the property , we find Leiria and Porto de Mos just 10 minutes away, Batalha and Alcobaca just 5 minutes away. Cities with great history, tradition and a fast growing rate, with lots of potential if they wish to start/setup any kind of professional activity.


Despite the rural concept , the property has huge internal comfort, provided by radiant heating throughout the cottage floor heating the house ever so evenly.
As an extra, solar panels were installed, which only heat up the sanitary waters.
The water that supplies the farm, comes from a 280m deep bore hole, with plenty of water, was made on the farm's highest slope. This way, a pressure pump is not required for water delivery to rest of the property, seeing as though gravity does all the work.
As for energy, after trials with several reputable companies, the 'micro wind' was chosen (unfinished), this is clearly the most cost effective solution because you can monetize the season itself and 'sell the excesse energy produced ' and not consumed (hence the existence of two counters, one for domestic consumption registration and the other for external control).
The process of the work done was fantastic, the interior entrance courtyard gives the house that 'homy' feel. The house develops to the ground floor level, despite a great hall which was designed in and beautifuly executed in the housing of the roof.
